The St. Croix River Education District (SCRED) is pleased to announce that the North Branch Area School District has become a member district as of July 1, 2009. On Thursday, Feb. 13, the North Branch Area School Board voted unanimously to become a member of SCRED.  Dr. Kim Gibbons, Executive Director of SCRED, is very pleased with the addition of the North Branch School District as are the five superintendents of the other member districts.  Everyone believes this merger will be a “win-win” for all involved. Three collaborative planner positions, a reintegration specialist, and unique manager were added to accommodate adding a new member district.  Because of these additions, Dr. Gibbons reports that current services to member districts will stay the same or increase in some areas and costs for all districts will decrease.
