SCRED manages special education services for our six member districts (Chisago Lakes, East Central, Hinckley-Finlayson, North Branch, Pine City, and Rush City School Districts). Special Education Administrative services are provided by Jamie Nord, Director of Special Education, Sarah Brown, Unique Learner's Manager and Troy Ferguson, Unique Learner's Manager. SCRED has collaborative planners who specialize in the following areas: Early Childhood (Karen Beckstrom), Low Incidence Disabilities (Ann McCormick and Marleen Zak), Social Behavior (Christine Matthews and Robyn Smith), and Academics (Kerry Bollman). These collaborative planners help with staff development in our member districts and assist teachers in programming for students with more intensive needs. While each school district employs special education teachers, speech clinicians, and paraprofessionals, SCRED provides some direct service providers and related services staff. Related services staff include school psychologists, school social workers, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and audiologists. We also provide teachers who are specialists in the area of Deaf/Hard of Hearing, Vision Impairments, Developmental and Adapted Physical Education, Traumatic Brain Injury, Other Health Disabilities, and Physical Impairments. |
