Four high school students recently gave SCREDster Rachel Adams a major assist in educating Pine City 6th graders about the dangers of vaping and healthier alternatives! Daniel Milliman (Senior), Samuel Johnson (Junior), Mallory Clepper (Junior), and Brooke Boland (Junior) visited Ms. Adams’ Healthy Choices class on 5 separate occasions, sharing their engaging 50 minute presentation with every 6th grader! 👏
In order to prepare for these presentations, the students met weekly during their Advisory period with PCHS School Counselor Mariah Skalicky and SCRED School Social Worker Steve Wagner. Staff noted that the HS students did not earn any extra credit, and their project was not for a class or an assignment — they simply volunteered. 😊
The presentations were such a success that the newly christened “Student Anti-Vaping Task Force” is now planning how to make this an annual opportunity for Pine City 6th graders!
