Wow! 🤩 Ruby, an 8th grader at Chisago Lakes Middle School, presented to every 3rd grade class at Taylors Falls Elementary about her hearing loss and equipment 👂 and how to be inclusive of students with different types of hearing loss! 👏👏
These 3rd graders had recently learned about sound in their reading class, and Ruby’s visit was such a gift to add to their learning! She even let the students listen to a simulation of what it’s like to have hearing loss.
“I’m so proud of Ruby for her courage and strengths!“ shared Molly Richter, Ruby’s DHH teacher from SCRED, who presented with Ruby. Ruby’s presentation is an important step that ripples out and makes the world a more welcoming place for people with hearing differences. 😊
