Thresholds

threshold videoAn autopilot that finds students and completes tasks.

eduCLIMBER can comb through your data on whatever schedule you want, watch out for whatever data "thresholds" you specify, and when students trigger those thresholds eduCLIMBER can automatically email people, tag the students, or generate paperwork for the students.

threshold pie chartSo much potential! The challenge is to take all those possible choices and to deliberately carve out efficient, manageable workflows.

The most common workflow in our member districts is called an 🚨 Early Warning System (EWS).

An EWS looks at risk indicators (e.g., discipline incidents, truancy, chronic absenteeism, failing grades, etc.) and divides students into risk cohorts.

Setting Up a Threshold

The Threshold feature is very powerful and also the most complicated eduCLIMBER feature. ⚠️ Always reach out to and partner with an experienced Services Coordinator (see contact info. below) when setting up a Threshold.

After initial setup, any adjustments would need to be made by a Services Coordinator or a School Psychologist (once trained). This is because the Threshold permission gives you access to district-wide student data (i.e., SCRED-wide, in this case). Until eduCLIMBER makes adjustments to account for ed. districts/consortiums, no member district staff can take on the role of editing the Threshold "engines" directly.

If you'd like to view the Early Warning System configuration running in your school and/or request changes, check out these docs: Chisago Lakes | East Central | Hinckley-Finlayson | North Branch | Pine City | Rush City

Using the Output

The real day-to-day work of supporting students isn't based in the 'Threshold' pie chart part of eduCLIMBER. It's using the student tags, emails, or smartFORM paperwork that eduCLIMBER automatically creates to help us focus on students who need support and get them what they need without delay.
