SEAC helps our six member districts and the TRIO Wolf Creek charter school to meet the needs of students with disabilities. SEAC achieves this by improving communication and supporting parent/guardian involvement in special education decision making.
Parent/Guardian SEAC Meetings
SEAC meetings are:
- Two hours long
- Scheduled in the evenings (childcare is provided)
- At least three times per year — Fall 🍁, Winter ☃️, and Spring 🌱
Parents/guardians who represent children with a variety of disabilities meet and are joined by our special education administrators (including our Director of Special Education).

Teacher Meetings
A representative group of special education teachers from across our member districts meets with SCRED administrators (including our Director of Special Education) as a Special Education Advisory group. These meetings occur more frequently than our parent/guardian SEAC meetings.

Community Organizations
- PACER Center An organization that provides advocacy supports to families as they work with schools to provide a free and appropriate public education to students.
- The Arc of Minnesota The Arc provides services to people with disabilities and their families, such as information and advocacy.
- We 'R' Able A community education program that serves adults with disabilities (ages 14 and up) and the general public in the school districts of Pine City, Rush City, North Branch, and Chisago Lakes.
- Family Pathways An organization that runs thrift stores, food shelves, crisis support, and other social and community supports.
- Special Olympics Minnesota Year-round sports training and competition for children with intellectual disabilities.
- Special Needs Summer Camps An updated list of summer camps in Minnesota for children with special needs.
- Crowning Achievements For ages 16 and up, Crowning Achievements hosts fun events each month to foster confidence, independence, social skills, and friendships.
