Special Education Advisory Council (SEAC)

SEAC works collaboratively with special education administration, parents/guardians, and other school staff members to improve communication, support parent/guardian involvement in special education decision making, and enhance our systems to meet the needs of students with disabilities.

Membership

In addition to our Director of Special Education and Special Education Teachers, our SEAC is comprised of a representative group of parents/guardians from across the SCRED member districts (Chisago Lakes, North Branch, Rush City, Pine City, Hinckley-Finlayson, East Central, and TRIO Wolf Creek Charter School). This includes parents/guardians who represent children with a variety of disabilities.

Parents/guardians, if you are interested in joining, please use this application form.

Educators, if you know a parent/guardian who is/may be interested, please use this nomination form.

Meetings

SEAC meetings are two hours in length and occur at least three times per year (October, January, and April). Special meetings may be called at the discretion of the Director of Special Education.

The teacher members meet as a Special Education Advisory group more frequently.
