Family and Community Engagement

🎥 What does it mean?

Family engagement is a process and a practice rooted in relational-trust which creates opportunities for equitable partnerships between families and school and district staff. These partnerships, from birth to graduation, nurture shared responsibility for students’ academic and social success and honor the lived experiences, expertise, and cultural knowledge of all stakeholders--students, teachers, staff, families, and communities.

Intervention Notification

Many interventionists in our member districts are funded by the ADSIS grant, and they use district-specific notification letters to inform parents/guardians of intervention placement and provide an opt-out option. Visit our ADSIS webpage to learn more or to access these form letters.

Interventionists who are not funded by ADSIS should still inform parents/guardians and follow a similar process following this checklist. Interventionists can adapt this template academic letter or this template SEL/behavior letter.
