Our mentoring program is critical to the success and retention of certified staff. Mentors and mentees participate in scheduled check-ins, informal day-to-day contact, and observations of the mentee and/or peers.

Stages of Mentoring
The program involves three stages:
- Stage 1: Staff new to SCRED regardless of previous experience
- Stage 2: Staff in their second year at SCRED who are still probationary (or who require mentoring beyond their probationary year)
- Stage 3: Staff in their third year at SCRED who are still probationary

Mentors and mentees are added to a Shared Drive, which contains their mentor checklist and meeting agenda. Mentors document elements of the program (meetings, observations, etc.) on a checklist, which is updated on October 5th, December 5th, March 5th, and May 5th.
