During "I Love to Read" Month, 34 kindergarten classrooms across our member districts will be visited by guest readers to share the story of 'Let's Go Play.'
'Let's Go Play' introduces adaptive equipment, or “tools”, while encouraging inclusion and promoting Social Awareness skills. Equipment included in the story include wheelchairs, glasses, AAC, standers, feeding tubes, trachs, gait trainers, service dogs, hearing aids, orthoses, and face masks!
It was written by Shelby McCarthy as something that could go to school with her daughter Kennedy, a child who uses many of these tools herself.
Thank you to the SCRED staff, deans, principals, superintendents, and other district staff who are sharing their time in order to make this happen! And thank you to the SCRED AT Committee for donating these books to the kindergarten classrooms being visited!
