Thanks to a very generous grant from the PrairieCare Fund, secondary ADSIS and SpEd teachers across our member districts will have access to School-Connect 4.0, a research based digital SEL curriculum, through 2028!
This year, PrairieCare had over $1.5 million of funding requests and only $220,000 to distribute. We are incredibly grateful to be one of their recipients and so proud of how the work in our member districts to support social emotional learning and mental health inspires educators across the state! PrairieCare shared, "We are so honored to be part of the work you are all doing!"
These before/after photos of our team hearing the news make it evident that you should never pass up an opportunity to play poker with a SCREDster — especially Nicole Woodward. 😉😂
School-Connect 4.0 is a gr. 6-12 teacher-friendly curriculum with slide presentations, videos, and worksheets. Our team selected it for the grant because staff in two districts have had great experiences with the 3.0 version, and because it is evidence-based.
This fills a big hole for many schools. As an interventionist, you need a large quantity of instructional resources that often come from multiple curriculums, but publishers don’t make as many SEL curriculums for secondary as they do elementary + many of the resources out there are not particularly teacher friendly.
Securing something with slides/videos/worksheets that isn’t used at all during advisory periods is a major asset in the toolbelt! We view School-Connect as a "keystone" curriculum that provides a solid foundation for instruction, allowing secondary interventionists/SpEd teachers to integrate additional curriculums and instructional resources.
